Tall Tafoni Vase

These Vases are inspired by the weathering of sandstone rock faces I explored on a trip to the Virginia Channels Nature Preserve. One of the most unexpected and best kept secrets in Virginia, the rock formations are absolutely stunning and have inspired my work in many ways.

"Tafoni" (or tafone in singular form) is the name for the weathering patterns created by water on rock faces.
